Pre-1990 Work

This is a sampling of large b/w linocuts prints I made in the mid-to late 1980’s dealing with several themes:

1) Figures made from bundles of sticks, somewhat of an effigy or primitive death figure.

2) Another quite different series has to do with a toy car that I own containing a man and woman from the 1950s, used together with other objects to explore the impending adoption of my daughter from Korea. It became a narrative that has a gentle, if mysterious, humor.

3) The third series was an outgrowth of that work, using various objects and toys together with other images to weave less specific, often humorous, personal myths.
